Ionian Islands
Green, Turquoise, Light or Deep Blue, Quiet or Cosmopolitan
Kerkyra (Corfu)
Corfu is the most cosmopolitan of all the Ioanian Islands, a visitor’s destination for decades, with Italian influences in its architecture, Venetian-era remnants, beautiful beaches, shopping, and busy nightlife.
Paxi – Antipaxi
Paxi and Antipaxi are the smallest of the Ionian islands and can be seen from the house across the sea. Multiple daily excursion leave Parga in the morning for a tour of Paxi and Antipaxi that incudes swimming in turquoise waters, exploration of caves, and a visit to the picturesque village of Paxi for lunch, shopping, and a stroll around town.
Lefkada (Lefkas)
Just 22 km from Preveza is the island of Lefkada, which is connected to the mainland by a small bridge. Pretty and quiet, it embodies Greek island life - even today, someone can still see women wearing centuries old traditional attires. Lefkada is famous for having some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, like the beach of Porto-Katsiki. The southern beach and fishing village of Vasiliki has world-class windsurfing.
Scorpios and Meganisi
Another favorite destination is the small island of Meganisi, which can be reached by ferry from Lefkada. Of special interest is a boat ride around Scorpios, the private island of the late Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis..
Ithaki and Cephalonia
Ferries depart daily from the port of Vasiliki in Lefkada to the islands of Cefalonia and Ithaki (a 1.5 - 2 hour ride). Both are beautiful, traditional and pristine islands.
